Customer Reviews:
A year later, we had a couple issues that required us to file a claim. Tyler did everything in his power to convince us NOT to file the claim, as it would increase our premium, they could drop us, the insurance companies are getting really tough, etc. It was best for us to pay out of pocket (this response even included attached articles about how times were tough for insurance companies – I’m assuming as a way to draw sympathy for them). The “extras” we were sold were therefore worthless to us for all the reasons Tyler gave us. The end result it seemed was for us to pay additional money to the insurance company and then pay out of pocket when issues arose. It became obvious to us that filing a claim would financially impact JDA, and therefore our best interests were not aligned with theirs.
When we did end up filing a claim for an issue that Tyler sold us an endorsement to specifically cover, it was denied. Tyler was of little help and essentially told us “yeah sorry not much I can do.”
The few times we did reach out to Tyler during our time with him, our questions were typically responded to with an out of office. One particular time-sensitive question was answered with “let’s chat Monday, I’m out of the office the rest of the week.”
Be cautious of the additional endorsements being sold to you. If/when the time comes that you need them, you will likely have to fight the insurance company on your own. These agencies have a special relationship with insurance companies – and that does not include the best interests of the client.
Thanks Kathy.
