Not good carrier. They have had my claim sitting in idle since October 2023. I requested for Citizens to send an engineer to my property because of the servers structural issues. In return, they never responded. Only to respond in March asking for an engineer to come out and cancelled my emergency living expenses. They acted like I don’t have expenses and bills from this incident. They severely underpaid me and didn’t event list 1/8 of the actual damages. The initial inspection was a joke, like literally they didn’t care and don’t care. My home is still in disfunction. They’re not a good company!

I hate to even give one star. After my associates paid over $20,000 in premiums on there rental portfolio. Storm damages that occurred in Florida are left on idle , not only will they leave your claim in transit for months it is impossible to communicate or reach your adjuster. They do not have a supervisor to speak with . Our tenants have taken more damages to their homes quit paying rent , filed lawsuits as well as the city , no check will be mailed to you or your contractor. Good luck. Citizens will leave the properties unsafe , damaged structure, mold, and rain entering the properties they could care less to get the check or get the contractors paid. This is the absolute worst scam I have seen in my company. please run away from this company unless you want to get screwed over. They have no honor no respect and care about their clients. But they will gladly take all of your money on high premiums!!!!!!

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. This company is nothing short of a scam. I poured over $16,000 into premiums for all my properties, and this is the FIRST claim I’ve ever made. Over two months ago, a massive tree crashed onto one of my rental properties, and instead of helping, they subjected me to a humiliating meeting with a private investigator, making me feel like the criminal when they are the real offenders.
Good luck trying to reach anyone on the phone. When you finally do connect, they only ask for more information, dragging out the process indefinitely. Now, my home has been red-tagged by the city, and I’m left with mounting damages and no one to assist me. This is a nightmare. DO NOT trust Citizens for your insurance. I’m now facing lawsuits, and my property is deteriorating while they sit idle.

Citizens took my money quickly Then a week later cancelled my home owners insurance policy without explanation. I had to come up with more money and find a new company within a few days so my home would be protected. I have been waiting over a month for Citizens to return the $$$ they owe me. Would love to chat with these low life’s up close and personal.

Citizens continously raises the price without reason or cause year after year. Even when they value your property less than the year before and have no claim history. In addition, as a landlord they at the last minute make up rules and requirements and don’t share it until you have met every requirement. Then they add on a new requirement. They are horrible. I do t care if they are cheap. They will obviously be horrible to work with if I did have a claim. No thanks!!!
