Absolutely worst insurance company I have ever dealt with!!! I had damage to my house from a storm. I reported it and it took them almost a year to assign an agent to my case. The agent was unprofessional and confessed that she was overloaded with cases. She would disappear and reappear on and off over the course of months. I had enough and decided to switch insurance companies. I found out eight months later that Liberty Mutual went back and recalculated my premiums to remove the “multi-policy discount”. They removed it after I no longer had a policy with them. The removal of the so called discount created a balance on my account for hundreds of dollars that they demanded I pay. I had to pay because they threatened to report it to the credit bureau. Buyer beware! Do business with them at your own risk. They have zero integrity!!!!

I recently had a very unpleasant experience with Dana Martin from Liberty Mutual. During our phone conversation, she was rude and even hung up on me when I asked her to correct an inaccurate statement. She falsely claimed that I was at fault for an accident, despite the fact that I was at a complete stop when my vehicle was hit. Dana failed to conduct a proper investigation by not reviewing available camera footage or other evidence that could support my claim. I was never notified of the investigation’s findings, and she wrongly sided with the other party, resulting in a payout based on false information. To make matters worse, I was not informed when Liberty Mutual paid out the other party’s claim, which unfairly caused my insurance rates to increase.

Additionally, on a separate occasion, Liberty Mutual raised my rates without providing any explanation. I find this completely unacceptable and will never use this company again. Based on my experience and the numerous negative reviews I’ve seen, it’s clear that Liberty Mutual prioritizes profit over protecting their customers. I would never recommend them to anyone.

These jerks cut off my insurance for my house after faithfully staying with them for 16 years! I faithfully paid them my annual policy every year for the last 16 years and then they cut me for no good reason they tried to blame it on my roof but I had just put on a new roof for many thousands of dollars 5 years ago I sent them very clear photographs of the very good condition roof and they cut me off for no reason
I went over to bamboo insurance which gave much better coverage at a much lower rate and much higher limits 275,000 replacement value
Liberty mutual never even bothered to contact me each year to update my policy limits they had me at like $120,000 replacement value
So not only did they not contact me regularly to raise my policy limits which I did not know that you had to do, they cut me off for no valid reason no claims for the entire last 16 years
They just cruelly and coldly cut me off even though I had faithfully been paying the last 16 years, pretty upset
Also none of the workers at Liberty mutual told me that I was able to get three different options for the earthquake policy, so they have bad communication did not keep me informed as a good customer they should have at least contacted me every few years to update my policy limits and let me know about the three options for the earthquake I thought there was only one option on that because they didn’t communicate properly with me
This was very bad to do this to a long-term faithful customer

Liberty mutual harassed me to call them for 1 year because I have an Audi. When I called them they said that they can’t do much better for me (even with multiple insurance policies) so I asked why did you call me and they hung up on me. Liberty mutual doesn’t care about potential clients and they waste peoples time! Good luck with them!

My mom passed away in January 2022. Despite not driving for at least the last six months of her life, she continued to make her car insurance payment via auto pay from an account we had together ($144.00 per month).

After my mom passed we notified Liberty twice to stop making withdrawals from the account. To date, 4 withdrawals were made from the account ($576.00). I talked to a liberty supervisor on May 9th and asked them for a refund for the withdrawals that had occurred since my mom passed away. I was told if I provided a death certificate, a copy of the will and proof that the car had been re-registered in my name they would refund the money. I provided all that and called them back. I was told they were still waiting on one of the 3 documents and asked me to call back. I was also told initially they could not backdate the refund, but they subsequently stated they would abide by what the agent told me about the refund on May 9th.

I called back today and they confirmed they have all the documents. They also said the claim needed to go to the “back date department” and asked me to call back in another week to see what their decision was in the case.

All of this has added up to 4-5 hours on the phone with various representatives and agents. I am not hopeful Liberty will do the right thing here.

It is clear to me they are just wanting to run me around in circles and hope I will give up.

It is astounding to me that a big corporation like Liberty Mutual can’t simply do what is fair and right and feels the need to hold onto $576.00 taken from a dead person’s checking account.

Gotta pay for all those Emu commercials somehow, I guess.
