Academy Insurance Customer Reviews:
They were overcharging me for insurance (by almost $100 a month) and I found a better rate elsewhere, so naturally I called to cancel my policy with them. It took me TWO DAYS to get a real person on the phone who wasn’t giving me the transfer run around. Three times I called and they “transferred” me and then just hung up. If I had a dollar for every “transfer” I had to go through, I’d have a free month of car insurance.
Finally got a lady on the phone and she was incredibly pushy with me, trying to get me to reconsider canceling by telling me she could’ve given me a better rate (then why didn’t you in the first place???) and then being upset with me for not asking them before starting a new policy elsewhere (as if I wasn’t trying to get someone on the line for TWO DAYS, before I even signed with the new policy!!). They charged me $70 for the cancellation and said everything was taken care of and they were sorry to see me go.
That was a couple of months ago. Now I have a letter in my mail from a COLLECTIONS company telling me I owe the insurance company for the CANCELED policy. All of that hassle, and Academy never actually put the cancellation through. Now I have to deal with debt collectors calling me. Really looking forward to however many hours I’m going to need to spend in the transfer loop again before I can actually get someone on the line to fix their screw up.
NEVER AGAIN.
Three weeks ago, I applied for a job with them, online. They never reached-out, not even to write “thanks, but no thanks”.
I followed up a few days ago and called the phone number on the ad. A man answered, like I’d called his home phone. I asked if I’d reached AIS Academy, and he said yes. I told him, I was confused because of how he answered the phone.
He apologized for his LACK of professionalism and took my name. He told me someone from his office would call me back. No one did, so yesterday I went into the office.
I was told the hiring manager would be with me shortly. She never came out. Instead, after TWENTY MINUTES of waiting, a woman came out, said the manager was busy and she’d take my info and contact me later. I even showed her, when I applied online, as she was claiming they never received my resume.
Let me tell you, ALL of the employees there are mexican or of other hispanic origin.
They have Black customers, but NOT ONE BLACK EMPLOYEE.
I believe my resume was received, but trashed.
I applied for the job April 29, 2024, today is May 16, 2024. Let that sink in.
