Farm Bureau Insurance Customer Reviews:

I was recommended by my real estate agent that this company was good insurance and affordable. But that is not how it ended up. Trying to get ahold of anyone in the office is almost impossible. The agent seems to never be in the office and they do not work weekends. They also close at 4pm, so if you have any issues you have to wait till the next day.
I was with them almost a yr and I had to pay for the membership as well as my policy. Their pricing is just outrageous in my opinion. I left geico, who I had been with over 10 yrs when I moved her due to price increase. But I wish I hadn’t wasted my money here. Too many price increases for me.

Marius Haydel unprofessional hard to work with and impossible to speak to, Raven was also horrible to me on the phone and the lady I spoke with today before her hung up on my face for no reason. besides all the issues with the people representing this insurance company here the rates are also awful. I’ve never been in an accident never had a ticket and pay SO MUCH MONEY. Do not get a policy here unless you have the patience of a saint and are also literally made of money.

My wife and I have questioned the constant rise in price and the ridiculous terms for service. The first issue that we had was when a semi had kicked up an object off the road that shattered our passenger window. I have 360 cameras installed on all of our vehicles and offered to send them the video for evidence. They wanted to charge me a deductible that was 3X the cost of replacing the glass. Every other insurance provider I have used has always covered glass without any deductible, but not these guys. Ultimately, it made more sense for me to pay out of pocket, as it was much cheaper. This was the first strike towards them, and the constant increase in our policy was the second strike.

The third strike, that lead to us parting ways with this provider was when my wife called to stop a draft and Raven and Allison were very rude with my wife during the call and had even hung up on her. I later filed a complaint with the BBB when they charged us again after terminating our policy with them. They claimed that we never asked for that, but we actually had contacted Corporate in order to get anything done due to the girls being so rude in the office. Corporate had told us during the call that they would email the local office about the termination. In response to the complaint with the BBB, they had lied about the interaction, claiming that my wife was cursing them out and hung up on them repeatedly. This information was referenced from the office notes as opposed to just listening to the “recorded” call that can’t be manipulated because you want to protect your job. The fact that they blatantly lied about the interaction while quickly refunding the money was ridiculous, suspicious, and unacceptable. These people are untrustworthy and even had the nerve to send a letter to the house for us to come back. I will never do business with these manipulative individuals due to their false documentation practices as well as their poor services.

They don’t care for the customer!
I am sharing an experience that might be helpful for other people facing similar issues. I canceled Louisiana’s beloved Farm Bureau Insurance on May 29 but took Geico Insurance on May 28 (1 day before to avoid any potential laps in insurance). I had to do this because I was moving to San Marcos, Texas. Guess what, I received a letter from the Louisiana DMV saying that, they intend to revoke or block my driving license due to the fact that I may not have any insurance or be driving without any liability insurance. They sent the letter on July 19 and gave me 10 days to resolve the issue. Guess what, I received the letter on August 7, and tried to send all the documents, and explain them. For information, I actually registered my vehicle on June 25 and got a new license plate on the same day in Texas. But I forgot to cancel my Louisiana license plate until August 7 (Farm Bureau or Geico never told me anything about this). The situation is like this:
DMV: We issued the letter because we were notified about your cancellation of insurance. Your GEICO insurance even before the same date does not help, because it does not cover Louisiana (but I was not in Louisiana, they don’t want to listen).
LA Farm Bureau: By law, we had to notify DMV about your cancellation of insurance. (Why didn’t you tell me about these steps back then? They almost showed body language that we don’t really care about you after the cancellation).
GEICO: They never told me anything that I might face an issue about the cancellation of my previous insurance. They were just happy with the money.
I felt like a pillow of pillow passing game among Farm Bureau, Geico, and LA DMV, and nobody took the responsibility, so I had to pay the fine today. I felt extremely bad, and it made me feel like I was robbed just because the insurance company was happy with the money. They don’t really care about customers except for making those beautiful advertisements.
I had Louisiana Farm Bureau insurance from January 2021 to May 2024, a period of around 41 months. I started with 81/month, then 91/month, then 110/month, then 140/month. Finally, before my cancellation, they gave me a rate of 180/month!
I never had any accidents. Still, they continued to raise my premium for nothing. In other words, I paid at least $4000 to the Louisiana Farm Bureau, but when it came to the cancellation moment, they did not bother to tell me anything about the upcoming issues I might face – NOT A SINGLE WORD. They don’t care for the customers.
