Used this firm to switch insurances for home and auto. Saved me close to $1000 for coverage that was similar or better in areas. Was very quick and easy. I have not yet had to use the insurance, we’ll see how that is when the time comes, but switching was easy.

I’ve had policies with Goodman for about a year and I haven’t had to call them until recently. My first call was a few months ago when I wanted to compare quotes. Jennifer responded, “it’s not time to compare quotes yet since your policy ends in June”. When I insisted that I would like to compare early, she begrudgingly complied. Just today, I called to inquire about the details of my home policy and ask specific questions about coverages. I spoke to Kelly and he instructed me to call the insurance company directly. I thought this was odd, because I use a broker for a reason- to help me compare and understand different options in the car/home insurance industry. So I called Travelers insurance. They noted I had a broker and transferred me back to Goodman. Kelly answered and sounded very annoyed. When I told him Travelers redirected back to him, he said “typical”. When I told him that I quite frankly agreed with the insurance company…that I thought that Goodman was here to support and inform customers, he stated, “I don’t tell you how to do your job- so don’t tell me how to run my business”. I was really annoyed at this point, bc if I wanted to deal directly with an insurance company, I would get a policy directly through them and cut out the middle man. I haven’t had this experience with all staff, but again- I rarely call them. My impression is that they are there for customers when it turns a profit, but when it requires more work, they aren’t really there for it. I know this company is highly rated, which is why I went with them. I’m a nurse and I understand customer service, so this was a really frustrating experience. I am seriously considering looking for a different agency that is more eager to help their customers. In comparison, my health insurance broker is amazing- very patient, answers questions, and gets back to me quickly without an attitude. She knows her role and I value her as a broker. My point is: I’m not seeing the value with Goodman. Why go through a middle man who just signs you up and doesn’t help you understand your options? May as well go through someone else or the insurance agent directly. Be wary.

I had a difficult transition with Goodman insurance. It seems they are not very detail oriented. An updated policy oversight on their part, under two months after switching, they informed me I had around two weeks to find new insurance. The policy they signed us up for was no longer insuring our family due to the oversight regarding the style of our roof. They handled the error as best as they could, but it put me in a very bad position in getting new insurance and in the end it would have been better to stick with the previous insurance company. I’ve moved to another insurance carrier and would recommend you did as well.
