What a terrible company for anyone to have to deal with. I strongly suggest if you deal with a company that is represented by Helmsman that you strongly reconsider. I had the pleasure of dealing with Krissy Castillo a so called claims specialist. Our mailbox was taken out by a Door Dash driver who fled as soon as he hit our mailbox. This driver was delivering food across the street. My daughter watched it happen while standing at the front door. I ran outside to see him driving away. I went across the street to the neighbor who had the food delivered to get all the info i could along with having her pull what she had from her ring camera. We also had 6 neighbors outside who witnesses this happen. I then got on the phone with Door Dash which was a joke. I spoke to 4 different people before getting to what seemed like the right person or highest in charge. They assigned Krissy from Helmsman to handle the claim. This went on for almost 3 months as she stated they were doing an investigation. Well in the mean time we had our mailbox repaired and not replaced to save everyone time and money thinking this was the right thing to do and would would receive payment. I had to move forward in order to send and receive mail. Long story short we had the call logs with Door Dash along with pictures of the driver and the car moments before destroying our mailbox. Needless to say we got screwed in the ordeal. Its a shame that we now need to have Cameras on every square inch of our property for situations like this but i guess that is the world we now live in. Once i got on here to do some research on this company i knew we would be screwed. The Google reviews told me everything i needed to know. I did learn some important lessons. I should have called the police to file a police report along with pressing charges against the driver but i didn’t. I just have to much faith in humanity i guess. Anyway run as fast as you can if you do business with a company who is represented by Helmsman!

Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any car insurance claim. I was hit by their insured and it took over a month to get the claim approved to get an estimate. They scheduled a rental car for while my car was in the shop but there were none available and when asked to assist locating one they refused to answer my messages. They also refused to reimburse the shop for blending the paint to insure it matched. (Thank goodness the body shop I used is just wonderful, really great people who made it right.)
When I contacted my claims rep regarding the paint instead of telling me no they wouldn’t do it or checking into it she had another employee call the body shop to tell them to call me and reiterate that Helmsman would not cover the cost of blending. Just unreal they can’t do the job they’re being paid for. It’s not the body shops responsibility to relay insurance’s decisions & policies. Both the claims rep and her boss, Crystal and Steve, are absolutely the most unprofessional rude people I’ve ever encountered in a business setting. They don’t answer or return calls, you’re lucky to get an email back and if you do those are also rude and unprofessional.
The final straw was the release of liability agreement they wanted me to sign which reflected completely inaccurate information. Apparently this company is in the habit of signing legally binding agreements that are false since they refused to change it to reflect the correct information. Literally refused, stating it would not be changed. Well guess who doesn’t sign inaccurate legal documents and will never release them from liability…

I don’t even know where to start. This company is completely fraudulent and unsure how they are still in business let alone in partnership with Liberty Mutual. I have been trying to contact someone for MONTHS regarding settling my claim to no avail. I was given three different contacts for three different adjusters in the span of a month. I am now at the point where I am calling/emailing every day until I can get my case resolved. What a soulless company. Had these people gone through some of the things their customers went through, they would want results right away!

Horrific experience filing a claim with Michael Roberts with Helmsman out of KY. A Seattle garbage truck snapped its hydraulic fuel line and spewed the fluid all over my backyard. Roberts was impatient and insistent. He left voicemail with fast garbled speech so it was impossible to get a name and phone number.

Absolutely terrible people. I have an assigned “caseworker” who never answers the phone or replies to emails. No matter how urgent the situation, she’s never available. But, amazingly, when I’m prompted to speak to another representative, they can always connect me to her. Don’t even think about speaking to her supervisor because the supervisor is the rudest, coldest , most condescending person I’ve ever dealt with. Yes, you’re in a difficult business and you don’t have a lot of fans but you don’t have to be blatantly rude and disrespectful.
