When I signed up they said “if you cancel early we will refund you the excess amount.” I paid for the year of rental insurance in advance but then left that place early so I cancelled my insurance. Not only did I not receive the refund they promised me, I just recently received a Debt Collection letter stating I owe them money. Unfortunately for them, I worked for years for a debt collector and know what they’ve done is illegal as it’s not a valid debt and they didn’t bother validating it. I hope they enjoy dealing with their violation of UDAAP, FCRA, and FDCPA as I’m submitting a complaint to the CFPB.
