I should point out that I am not your average consumer of professional liability insurance. I am a trial lawyer who in the past was very active at the state (Indiana and Kentucky) and national level. In the in the 1980s an through as late as early 2000 there were various times when there were spikes in insurance rates generally and in legal professional liability particularly. These spikes were mostly caused by “cash flow” underwriting. I was active in dealing with and testifying concerning these issues.
