Mayela completely forgot to write the homeowners policy. 1 week after close, she called me asking why the title company sent them a check for $1600. This is despite direct communication between Mayela and the broker. It’s as if they never wrote a homeowners policy before. This is pure incompetence. This isn’t my first time buying a house and I know how this process is supposed to work. This isn’t Erie, this is McCabe

Update: McCabe sent me an email saying Mayela did nothing wrong and that I was “spiting my own face” by leaving Erie. Mayela lied about my auto rate coming down once I purchased homeowners, and she has no idea why a title company would send her a check. Doesn’t seem like competence to me. Additionally, with Erie insurance, you can’t leave an agency/agent without express written consent from that agent. Didn’t even want to try with these liars. Just left Erie and found similar rates with Travelers. Do yourself a favor, if you communicate with McCabe, do so in an email so that when you catch them lying you have proof for the Maryland Insurance Administration.

Update 2: Notice how they didn’t say that the communications for the auto policy was handled correctly… telling. As for the homeowners policy, again, this isn’t the first time I bought a house. Liars.
