Do I have to put a star???? Because if I didn’t have to it would be a 0/5. I am being denied additional coverage by this company due to having infertility and having a history of C-section. Sounds discriminatory based on gender to me? When I called the person who wrote me the denial letter she gave me scripted answers about how this is a “preexisting condition” that excludes me form additional coverage. And I would ask again, why do those “conditions” exclude me, and she would basically just repeat herself. Got no where. I don’t know that I have ever been this offended. I’m pretty sure infertility would cause me to have less of a chance of needing short-term disability. I would like to know how my C-section delivery makes me more at risk as well?

Was denied short term disability coverage because I suffer from infertility?! That is not a condition that would cause me to miss work or go on medical leave. In fact, it would probably save the company money in the long run as I wouldn’t be taking maternity leave. What an insensitive company and a slap in the face about something that already causes me such emotional pain.
