Got great feedback and counsel form Kyle himself. Although not his fault, I still don’t have an answer why in just 2 years the Allstate Umbrella premium has gone up between 80-90 per cent. Researched several independent on-line sights about Umbrella polices premium cost and the average price is between $350-$450 annually. This year’s premium jumped to $644 without any explanation or the reason why. Talking with three separate independent brokers with a minimum of 15 plus years of experience was told they have had only one or maybe two claims in all that time and their rates were less than $450. Allstate would do well with explaining to its brokers and to its policy holders the business rationale for such an increase. Surely there must be one. I can understand significant increases for home property policies for those that live in high disaster areas like FL and CA and even the increases to our policies due to the concept of sharing risk. But I would really like to know the rationale for the Umbrella policy increase. Left to my own experiences with insurance company business rationale when setting rates, I can easily draw some unhealthy conclusions,.
